Blended Family Ceremony

If your marriage will create an “instant family” because one or both of you already has children, consider asking your MarriageChaplain.com minister to create a Blended Family Wedding Ceremony for you and your children.

In a Blended Family Ceremony, your children are called up to join you and your spouse just after the ring ceremony. Typically your officiant will then talk with the children about the fact that the two of you are both marrying each other and making a commitment together to love them and help them grow up happy. Typically your officiant will also talk about how they can either help make a happy family and thus have a happy life . . . or they can behave in ways that will make them have an unhappy life.

If you choose, at this time you and your spouse can give a small piece of jewelry to each child as a symbol of your joint commitment to them. (Ask us about the beautiful Blended Family Medallions you can purchase through us.)

After your children have received their gift, the pastor will lead you into the final pronouncement of marriage, the First Kiss. The children will remain with you , and you all will be introduced together . . . “now legally a family”.
